Improved vision also. I ride daily through wet grassy areas. This system on the down tube catches the majority of the dirty water that sprays straight up. Add a fork fender and your face can also be clean.

First off a shout out to Moose bicycles for quick and honest transaction plus free and quick shipping. Secondly I just got the tires put on and only have 40km ride they are super smooth I picked up 10k per hour down hills on pavement and they have greater rolling resistance than nobbies and give me improved battery life on my fat tire ebike. I decided to go this route because I rarely go offroad I do mostly 60-80km on paved roads and bike paths.
I was worried about hitting rocks or having to detour off road, because the tires have no nobbies, I tried a few scketchy areas to safely test and seems to be fine I wouldn't do mud or snow or up a mountain. They are thick guage tire the bike guy said you should be good for punctures but still try to avoid sharp rocks if possible.
So basically if your on paved road and bike paths most of the time these are a great tire hope all holds true after 500km we will see.
The BeaverGuard on the fork of my Surly Wednesday installed very easily with the included zip ties and it works like a charm. For some occasional wet riding, it’s perfect.
If you were routinely riding in a lot of wet and slop, you would probably prefer something a little longer and more substantial to protect the frame and the rider.
Had the best price and order showed up quickly. Have a set of these tires studded for winter riding and now I have a set for summer.
